Paul Krugman: Official Resident of Fantasy Land
By Rizzuto

Fri Jul 11, 2008 - In his op-ed piece in the New York Times, Paul Krugman moved his last box of home goods to his new studio apartment on the upper east side of Fantasy Land.

This from his piece in the New York Times :
It was the worst of days, it was the best of days. On Wednesday, Senate Democrats capitulated to the Bush administration on wiretapping — with Barack Obama joining the coalition of the craven.

Later that day, however, those same Senate Democrats won a huge victory on Medicare.

News reports stressed the cinematic quality of the event: Ted Kennedy, who is fighting a brain tumor, made a dramatic appearance on the Senate floor, casting the decisive vote amid cheers from his colleagues. (Only one senator was absent: John McCain.)
Earth to Paul Krugman, under universal healthcare, Ted Kennedy would be dead and wouldn’t have been able to cast anything!

Just for shits and giggles, let’s take a look at the cancer survival rate for the USA. For men, it’s 66.3%, that’s the highest in the world, a full 8.3 percentage points above our nearest competitor, Canada and close to 22% above England. Yeah, that universal healthcare really gets results.

Isn’t it ironic that Kennedy, who should be the poster boy for medical freedom considering that he most likely paid through the teeth for top care at Duke University Medical Center, fights for medical bondage under which his chances for survival would have been dramatically diminished? Was the irony lost on Krugman or does he just not give a damn?

What do you get paid Pauley? Whatever it is it’s too much…
