Chuck Schumer: 500K Barrels of (Saudi) Oil Will Bring Down Prices By Rizzuto Wed Jul 16, 2008 - So (up)Chuck Schumer's solution for lower oil prices is to continue to beg the Saudi government to allow us to suck a little more on it's oil producing teet, while a million barrels a day of oil could be pumped from the ANWAR or other domestic sources? From the National Review: “If they produced half a million barrels more oil a day the price would come down a very significant amount and, at the same time, it would stop the speculation that keeps driving up the price of oil.” Super duper idea Chuck! Was this the "big idea" Pelosi and co. had when they promised to bring gas prices down if America handed them an victory in 2006? How does this guy have the testicular fortitude to tell people that increasing supply by tapping into our own resources won't have any effect on the price, but asking the Saudis to do the same thing would force the price to, in his words "come down a very significant amount"? I'm sorry, but I just think it's becoming harder and harder to look at this so called progressive party and see anything more than a party of obstructionists. Thanks Democratic Congress!
