McCain: "Obama Rather Lose A War In Order To Win A Political Campaign" By Verv Wed Jul 23, 2008 - McCain spoke with some harsh words against Obama that hit the nail on the head quite recently. From Fox: John McCain returned to his second home of New Hampshire today, holding his trademark campaign event, a town hall. The crowd was very enthusiastic breaking into a standing ovation when he walked on stage. He quickly went after his rival making a pointed attack on Barack Obama's stance against the troop surge in Iraq compared to his own initial support, "This is a clear choice that the American people have. I had the courage and the judgment to say I would rather lose a political campaign than lose a war. It seems to me that Obama would rather lose a war in order to win a political campaign."And what a better summary of the views of many of the Left? They claim that they could not give anymore money to an unjust war when guys like Obama voted against bills to fund the war effort, refusing to fund our military when it was most needed in order to make their strange political points concerning withdrawal timetables. From the beginning the criticism has stemmed from Democrats concerning an "exit strategy" (which even former Secretary Of Defense Rumsfeld had on the table since 2003). But in reality there were no real concerns. In 2005 we were even coming up with agreed benchmarks that Democrats were asking for-- and as we began meeting those benchmarks recently the Democrats still seem to jabber on about withdrawal as if it is the only means to do anything. Their catering to the anti-war crowd and seeming lack of concern about real progress and rather getting votes is clear. No matter what happens talk of withdrawal fills the air and has continued to do so since the beginning. It is as if nothing is about the Iraq war and everything is about a political victory for the Left -- they have done everything that they can to distort and pervert the war effort
