Wrights Strange Choice of Neighbors

Thu May 01, 2008 - I had posted about Reverend Wrights palatial retirement pad before, but there was a hidden irony that I had missed. This from The New York Post:
The 10,400-square-foot brick-and-stone residence will be quite a retirement home when finished.

It will have a butler's pantry, four-car garage, elevator, rubberized exercise room, whirlpool, large family room with fireplace and bar, and circular driveway, according to building plans reviewed by Chicago newspapers.

The property also has a spare room that can be converted to a theater or swimming pool. It lies next to the Odyssey Country Club in a town that has a black population of less than 2 percent.
For all of his “black liberation” talk, Wright has certainly chosen some strange neighbors. Of course, Wright isn’t the first Black Marxist socialist to make his home in lily-white neighborhood, just take Cornel West for example. It’s a sign of disjointed elitism that reveals these bigots for who they really are.

People like the "Wrong Reverend Wright" will always find the suckers in the crowd and exploit them. Maybe I should slap on a reverend's collar and spew hate so that I can buy me a house like that. It worked for him, why can't it work for me?
