It's official: Conservatives Happier, More Rational

Fri May 09, 2008 - I do not think most people really needed a scientific study to demonstrate as much but at last now people are backing it up with research. This from Fox News:
Individuals with conservative ideologies are happier than liberal-leaners, and new research pinpoints the reason: Conservatives rationalize social and economic inequalities.

Regardless of marital status, income or church attendance, right-wing individuals reported greater life satisfaction and well-being than left-wingers, the new study found.

Conservatives also scored highest on measures of rationalization, which gauge a person's tendency to justify, or explain away, inequalities.

Your beliefs don't justify gaps in status, you could be left frustrated and disheartened, according to the researchers, Jaime Napier and John Jost of New York University. They conducted both a U.S.-centric survey and a more internationally focused one to arrive at the findings.

"Our research suggests that inequality takes a greater psychological toll on liberals than on conservatives," the researchers write in the June issue of the journal Psychological Science, "apparently because liberals lack ideological rationalizations that would help them frame inequality in a positive (or at least neutral) light."
So it is official: liberals often have the psychological incapability of rationalizing disparity amongst people. The basic idea of meritocracy seems to be lost on them and in the end they set themselves up for being less happy and complaining more.

What a superb line, "liberals lack ideological rationalizations." They are incapable of making their ideas conform to the real world as we collectively know it.

Surely we are getting bored of analyzing dreams by now... We should use this psychology we have to provide liberals with the help they need to rationalize and learn how to think in realistic terms.

Sadly... most Psychologists are also Liberal.. so rather than helping their liberal patients rationalize and cope... they instead play goofy games and fill them with Cope Dope.

So Michael Savage is Right... Liberalism is a mental disorder.

they seem to have given up on the idea of exceptional so they decided to be exceptionally troubled. you get the over medicated kids, the self diagnosed parents, the woe is me ive got this disorder and this disorder, and my kid has this disorder, and lordy what about the people who have disorders and cant pay for pills, because you know the first thing i tell you about myself is yet another disorder ive got.

they are the only people ive ever seen BRAG about so called disorders. then if they cant claim a disorder for themselves they will bitch about how they have martyred themselves for so-and-so's disorder.

its sad to see so many people to lazy or pathetic to try to excel...funny they do excel at making excuses.

Along the same lines, several months ago there was a Gallup poll that said that conservatives report higher mental health than liberals.
