Cruise set to finish filming 'Valkyrie' By Rizzuto Wed Jun 04, 2008 - According to Variety Cruise will shoot the final 3 scenes of his movie about the exploits of Nazi Col. Claus Von Stauffenberg, the would be assassin of Hitler. I’ve been aware of this movie for quite some time but I feel the need to comment on it again. Has Hollywood really come this far, that it feels it needs to find its heroes amongst the ranks of Nazis? Do we not have any American heroes worth making a movie about? There have been a number of fantastic books written by heroes returning from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan that would make incredible movies. Two that come to mind are Marcus Luttrell's Lone Survivor and David Bellavia's House to House. Is Hollywood that dense that it can no longer find heroes amongst it's own when they're literally coming home by the planeload from Iraq and Afghanistan? I am comforted that this movie is apparently laughably awful.
