Corruption of Contractors By Verv Thu Jun 19, 2008 - One of the reasons why the American people must always be on the lookout for government intermingling with business and why we should always keep government spending on such a tight leash is beyond obvious: we simply cannot trust other people with our money. Elected officials that deal with our money and are not necessarily even responsible to produce anything, men who play by a different set of rules, should always be watched like hawks. If you think that we cannot get good deals going for the American military to fight a war abroad, I wonder what it is going to be like when our American healthcare system is trying to decide who is going to get the pharmaceutical and equipment contracts? This from The Guardian UK: The European aircraft manufacturer EADS could be forced to fight again for a $40bn contract to build tankers for the American air force, after an official ruling that the military made "significant errors" in awarding the deal. In a dramatic reversal for the company and its partner Northrop Grumman, the auditing arm of the US government yesterday upheld complaints from Boeing that its losing bid was unfairly rejected by the air force in February. It is ironic in a way that it is the Democrats, who support larger government are witnessing these very events that we have right now, where we cannot even properly award contracts to private businesses in our military. Again, we are talking about people who cry about the way we mishandled Hurricane Katrina now being rewarded the right to control our health care.
